A Presidential Message

March 3, 2025

Dear Brothers and Future Leaders of JCI Manila,

When I assumed the role of President, I couldn’t help but reflect on the journey that led me here. From rekindling friendships upon my return from the U.S. to discovering a community of driven individuals in JCI Manila, every experience has played a pivotal role in shaping me as a leader. What began as a simple introduction from a family friend, Sen. Boydee Dizon, blossomed into a brotherhood that has profoundly influenced both my personal growth and professional path.

Serving as a Director and later as Secretary-General taught me that leadership is not defined by titles or positions—it’s about confidence, conviction, and most importantly, heart. I carry these lessons with me as President, with a mission to inspire each of you to unlock your own leadership potential. When building my team, I did not focus solely on credentials; instead, I chose individuals driven by genuine passion for our chapter and the community we serve. Together, we are committed to creating a lasting impact—whether through innovative projects, mentoring future leaders, or supporting one another in our personal and professional journeys.

The 77th Board of Directors of JCI Manila—leading with purpose, driven by impact, and built different.

My decision to pursue the presidency was deeply personal. A near-death experience last year forced me to confront a profound question: What legacy do I want to leave behind? Not just for my children, but for everyone whose lives I have the privilege to touch. Fear of failure once held me back, but with the unwavering support of my family, I found the courage to step forward. This experience strengthened my belief that when your intentions are pure, success follows naturally. Perhaps that’s why I was humbled to receive a historic 100% vote of confidence—proof that genuine connections and a shared purpose can lead to extraordinary outcomes.

To every member aspiring to lead, let me share a piece of my journey that may resonate with you, remember this: The presidency may not be for everyone, but if your heart is in the right place, you’re already one step closer. Lead with purpose, learn from every challenge, and never underestimate the impact of the bonds we create within this brotherhood.

Let’s make this year about more than just accolades—let’s make it a year of personal growth, meaningful connections, and bold strides toward becoming the leaders we aspire to be. I encourage each of you to seize every opportunity, uplift one another, and leave your own mark on this chapter. In the end, leadership is not just about what we achieve—it’s about the heart and intention behind every action we take. Together, we will continue to build and elevate JCI Manila—because we are, indeed, built different.

In service and brotherhood,

Jan Adrian “AP” D. Padiernos
2025 President
JCI Manila
